The thought of looking for a new home can be an exhausting one, especially for someone who has gone through it before! Finding the best location, price, and real estate agent to work with is something you need to put time and effort into.
But, where do you even begin? We’d like to give you a few pointers…
Find a lender and get pre-approval
Your pre-approval amount through your financial institution will give you a definite idea of your price range when beginning your search. Your pre-approval also lets real estate agents or homeowners know that you’re serious and qualified about home ownership.
Be realistic with “needs” and “wants”
You may really want a spiral staircase, but is it something that’s an absolute dealbreaker? It’s important to identify things that you can compromise on and things that are “must-haves”. For example, if you know that you would like a master bedroom on the first floor, such as Nic Zawarski and Sons® The Estates at Steeplechase North, that may be something you decide not to budge on.
Document your home visits
Keeping track of your home visits is an excellent way to compare houses you have visited. It’s very easy to forget or confuse two home visits (don’t worry, we’ve done it!). This will allow you to compare and contrast your home visits much more effectively.
Research neighborhoods
Looking at a home is much more than the home itself. You’ll want to look at the neighborhood itself. For example, you can research neighborhoods close to The Estates at Steeplechase North via our website.
Have fun!
Sure, it’s easier said than done, but your home journey should be one of exploration and some fun.
Whether you’re just starting to look or think you might be in the market in the future, call Nic Zawarski and Sons® at 610-865-1441 for a visit and our New Home Specialist will be happy to schedule a private showing of our new homes.
