Viewing homes is an exciting time. For some, it’s fun. For others, it may be a little bit more stressful. We understand that.
One way to help keep your potential homes organized is to keep notes and/or bring a list with you (we’ll get to that in another blog) that can help to quickly determine if a particular home may be worth looking into a bit further.
Test the Windows
Windows can be something people overlook, but can end up being costly if they need to be replaced en masse. Do they lock properly? Do they open and close without issue? Can you feel any drafts? It’s good to give the windows in a potential home a test drive.
Check the Roof
Ask when the roof was installed and the warranty that goes along with it. Roofs, of course, are vitally important and are expensive to replace. If you find concerns with a roof, it could potentialy trickle down to other areas of a home.
Take Notice of any Trees
Some may want a yard with numerous trees that they can enjoy with their family. For others, however, trees that have issues can potentially not only affect your property, but also your home.
Get the History
Getting a sense of the history of a home can also help you decide for yourself if it is something you may be more interested in. If the house was quickly flipped, you may want to take an extra look.
Follow Up
After you see a house, you’re free to follow up and do some homework on the house as well and follow up with additional questions.
